WaterNet
Water and sewage utilities must manage complex, constantly changing infrastructure networks while maintaining continuous water supply and providing a rapid response to faults, maintenance work and emergency events. The solution made it possible to create a unified, up-to-date source of information for all network assets, connect the engineering, operations, field and customer-service departments, and provide a complete picture that supports real-time decision-making.

The Business Challenge
Water and sewage utilities manage complex infrastructure networks that include thousands of kilometers of piping, facilities, valves, pumps and additional operational components.
Network information is managed over many years and undergoes frequent changes as a result of projects, expansions, repairs and upgrades. In many cases a gap forms between the documented situation and the actual situation in the field, making planning, maintenance and decision-making difficult.
In addition, a rapid response is required for routine and emergency events such as water bursts, supply outages, planned maintenance work or connecting alternative supply sources, with an immediate understanding of the impact on residents, consumers and infrastructure.
The challenge was to create a single platform that would serve as a source of truth for all of the utility's activity and connect the engineering, operations, field and customer-service departments.

The Solution
Implementation of the M.app Enterprise platform for managing water and sewage networks, combining engineering, operational and business information in one system. The solution included:
- Full management of the water and sewage network on a map interface.
- Topological representation of the network and the relationships between its components.
- Management of infrastructure assets and detailed engineering information.
- Documentation of change history and As-Made data.
- Cleansing and standardization of network data.
- Integration of field teams via a mobile app for online and offline work.
- Management of maintenance, infrastructure-replacement and upgrade processes.
- Analysis of the impact of faults, work and new connections on the network.
- Integration of three-dimensional and land-use information.
- Integration with operations, customer-service and billing systems.

The Business Value
- A single source of truth for all of the utility's activity
Unifying engineering, operational and service information into one platform that enables all stakeholders in the organization to work on the basis of up-to-date, reliable information. - Fast, real-time decision-making
An immediate understanding of the impact of faults, maintenance work and network changes, to reduce response times and improve service continuity. - Improved service to residents and consumers
Connecting the engineering and operations systems to the customer-service center makes it possible to provide accurate, up-to-date information about faults, water outages and planned work. - Full management of the infrastructure life cycle
Documentation, maintenance, upgrade and replacement of assets over the years while maintaining a complete, up-to-date information history. - An end-to-end solution envelope
Beyond managing the infrastructure itself, the solution integrates with additional core systems in the organization — including Milgam's customer-service system — and enables the utility to manage all its workflows in one connected environment. - Infrastructure for data-driven decision-making
The ability to analyze the network's condition, plan future investments and manage infrastructure assets efficiently and based on information.
- A single source of truth for all of the utility's activity
